Meet Binita
Binita was one of the first Alternativ Training graduates in Nepal. Her passion for business and the education she received through the Alternativ Business Essentials course offered as a program within Nuventure Nepal’s Business Incubator (opened by our partners in April 2019) skyrocketed her confidence and motivation to start and grow a business focusing on another of her passions, baking. With the help of a startup loan, she was able to acquire an oven, freezer, mixer, and other essential supplies to build her business, “Bonita’s Bakery.” From her profits and education she received on the importance of saving and investing, she was later able to purchase a scooter, adding increased efficiency and a delivery service to her already profiting business. She is now focusing on marketing her business and learning advanced cake decorating skills to offer more products to her community. She also serves as a business trainer and mentor for budding entrepreneurs within the incubator. She hopes to be able to hire future empowered program graduates to support her business while providing income opportunities to women in her community.

For the marketing, we are making promotion videos and a social media. We are also participating in events. A lot of business comes from word of mouth.
